As above, patch numbers arent done.

Steam just keeps a record of what days patches were released.

    If it launches its working.

So then, just since I'm slow

You cannot play the game with an outdated patch #, correct?

If you launch Steam and play while connected to the internet, you're ok? (This is for SP)

Alternatively, I would assume you can't play MP with an outdated patch anymore, correct? I remember the old days of MTW and RTW where we were playing on all different versions #'s.

That's all done? One version basically, as in "working"?

To answer your questions: yes, yes, yes, yes and yes

Usually the only way to avoid a patch of a steam game is to run steam in offline mode. If your online though, it'll install any updates before it'll let you play it.

    Very cool. Thanks again.

I like this actually. It was kind of irritating to have to wonder what version everyone's campaign was on, and I always like online games forcing everyone onto the same version.

The days of 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc - will not be missed

I just want to know when it was patched and what was patched so I'll know what to watch for. What is the best way to catch that sort of stuff?
I see stupid people....walking around like regular people....they don't even know they're stupid.

That's the one draw back. Our updates are going to occur basically unknown to us, behind the scenes, so I would imagine we probably won't even realize the game's been updated when it is.

Apparently, they said something about a change log inside of the Steam application.

I'm installing shortly (couldn't last night, was just far too exhausted to play) and I'll let you know what to expect out of said change log.

p.s. - I mentioned this in another thread: Let's hope CA is making updates save game friendly, or this is a disaster waiting to happen.

With my other experiences with Steam, it will be save game friendly. Which is a huge plus I might add.
