Default volley fire: how to do it?

ive been messing around with the demo land battle, trying different things and such.
but one thing i cant figure out how to do is to fire all at once in a big volley.
    does anyone know how.
turning off "fire at will" and then turning it back on a bit after isnt working.

You would have to have your unit stretched to at least one or two lines thin to be able to do that. If the line is any thicker the units at the back won't fire. If they are stretched that thin then turning off fire at will then turning it back on should work.

im guessing that the demo land battle doesnt have rank fire either...
im also guessing that you must wait for them to reload after you press to turn off Fie at will then press it agiana fter they all reload. but even then its not the big volley i expect.

No the demo doesn't have rank fire (unless you mod it). I can definitely say that rank fire is pretty effective though, having used it to great effect on troublesome Natives.

The higher your units experience the more likely they are to all fire as one. I've seen it happen in the actual game, can't remember if it did in the demo.

I think Sir Beane is right, more experienced units tend to fire massed volleys while low quality militia tend to just take pot shots.

The demo doesnt contain all the game functionality.
The main game requires research of firing drills and the raising of the correct unit types to use those drills.
