Is there a patch out ??

Hey guys...just got my copy of Empire a little while ago

Before I settle in and install it - Was there a first patch released already?

Do I need to do any updates, or just install/play?

There was a patch released, Steam will install it automatically when you install the game

Just so I can know the patch applied (I'm new to Steam) could you possibly tell me what the correct version # is supposed to be? I'd really appreciate it and it would save me the searching.

Hehe this is totalwar my friend, expect the patch erm sometime in the um future (notice the words the patch or may be lucky and get 2).

Should be ready to play out of the box.

One patch has already been released, another is scheduled for release within a week. Steam makes patching a breeze.

Which is why I scratch my head when people accuse CA for using Steam for dubious reasons. They've stated they want to make constant updates and Steam makes it extremely easy to keep everyone up to date. Sure as hell beats waiting 6 months for one gigantic 600 MB patch.

I'm anal and haven't used Steam so I'd just like to double check it once it's finished installing.

I'm sorry ArtillerySmoke, I can't help you with the version number. And there doesn't appear to be very many active users online at the moment. You might have to just jump in without checking.

Ok...

I'll check back in a bit. I guess I can always patch it later, right?

The game will auto-update after your installation is complete. Wait a minute after installation so that the update can finish from Steam. Don't immediately try to start the game.
