Default The Amusing Screenshots Thread (Imperial Edition)

If this doesn't require its own thread, then feel free to merge. I, personally, am of the opinion that funny screenshots should get their own topic :P

This must be one of those authentic 18th century tactics they were talking about in the previews.

"Remember lads, when the cannonballs start flying, group up. If there's enough of you, you'll just absorb the shock and that ball will bounce right back at them!"

    "But...sarge, they're firing incendiaries."

    "...BUGGER."

Seriously, the AI just sat there like that for the whole battle. I obliged by taking the chance to level my mortars up a bit.

LOL I love it when the enemy army bunches up like that. This is when I order my howitzer's to open up with the flaming carcass shot. Does some major damage real fast.

I would have used my howitzers on them, but apparently the AI's demi cannons there are crewed by master snipers. They managed to knock out both guns and leave the crew totally unharmed.

    Speaks for itself :P

It's a testimate to how much ETW artillery sucks that they only took four casualties from that barrage

On a sidenote, you shoulda used the exploding shells. I don't know why people use the gas ones, they're practically useless.

I think it rather speaks for itself...
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

Canons can use the quicklime shot better, but with mortars, you should really use the explosive shells. Anyway, quicklime looks more spectecular here

As Liberator said, I was using the quicklime shells for visual effect. Since (as you'll note) the mortars didn't fire in sequence, and the smoke from firing dissipates a lot more quickly than the quicklime trails.

Earlier in that battle I was dropping percussive shells all over the limeys in a fort. Very effective. Especially when they did their usual banzai charge.

Still, with THAT much horrible acidic fog pouring down around you, you'd figure they'd suffer more than three dead

You also have to consider that those are "green" gun crews. If they had more experience I think you would have seen better results. I've had some experienced gun crews that made 40-60+ kills per battle.
I see stupid people....walking around like regular people....they don't even know they're stupid.

If you get a "direct hit" with quicklime shot, it'll kill just as many men as percussive shot.

"Oh dear. Not only have we just been hit with a cavalry charge on our flank, but someone has turned off gravity. Help!!!"

These can also be found with several others from the Battle of Philadelphia in a Mead Hall AAR about my RTI Episode 3 campaign. Shameless plug, I know.

Love the realism in this game!
'Hannibal had been the victor at Cannae, and as if the Romans had good cause to boast that you have only strength enough for one blow, and that like a bee that has left its sting you are now inert and powerless.'
