Default mass fire and how to improve it

so i was messing around with ETW and found it very hard to get mass volleys like you see in movies like the patriot and other stuff like that, and certainly in real life. the hard way to do it is to turn off fire at will (FaW), wait for them to all reload, then turn it on.

this is very hard and not always gets you the results.
so i have a solution and a novel idea for ETW:
everyone knows of the broadside button for naval battles, right?
so take that idea and implement it to the land battles for the well-trained units (not militia and the like).

    thoughts?

Is there not a tech one can research to improve discipline when firing?

I sure hope there is, because the way the men fire is terrible. You get one full volley and then nothing but pot shots, and the second rank of men simply stand still and wait for someone in the first line to fall before stepping forward and firing a shot out of turn.

Experience improves your men's musketry and, if I'm not mistaken, general bearing.

Raw recruits stand around and hold their muskets oddly, and tend to fidget. Experienced soldiers will stand up straight, hold their muskets to their shoulders and fire in volleys.
Tallyho lads, rape the houses and burn the women! Leave not a single potted plant alive! Full speed ahead and damn the cheesemongers!

u can research fire by rank and advance firing later on.

fire by rank = first rank fires and then kneels to reload, second rank fires and then kneels to reload, 3rd rank fires and then the first rank is back up to fire etc etc. anything past 3rd rank doesnt fire from wot ive seen.

advance firing = first rank fires and reloads second rank walks past and fires then stops n reloads, 3rd rank walks infront and fires then stops n reloads, first rank walks to the front and fires. etc etc.

Does the amout of ranks firing with fire by rank depend on experience? Ive found that only my first two ranks fire.

It should be possible to do so with three ranks.

Lol, I wonder what my other ranks further behind the first three do when my colum is firing by rank. Stand around and shout encouragements maybe? I was getting worried when I didnt see any shooting animations for these lollygaggers. From now on I am spreading my lines thin.
