    Default Favorite Animated Disney Film?

Well, believe it or not(most likely not ), we got into an argument at work today over what the best Disney film is. Which, of course, means I am required to ask it here- what's you're favorite animated Disney Film?

Personally, I'd go with the Lion King first, but the Hunchback of Notre Dame as a close second. Hunchback has the best scene in Disney history, in my view, but has those idiotic gargoyles, which unfortunately drags it down below the more consistently good Lion King.

EDIT: had to leave a few off, due to poll constraints

Ditto on Jungle Book. I even had the storybook record (when I was very young we didn't have a TV), and I wore it out playing it so much. My mother would call me for dinner, and after repeated calls over ten minutes, would come into my room to find me far away, staring at the turntable, mouthing the words and singing with Baloo and imagining I was my fave, Bagheera. I would get so mad when she'd startle me back into the real world ("MOoom!! GAH!).

seireikhaan, if you like Hunchback that much, you will love the musical done of the book. (English version here)

My favorites are Lion King, Hunchback, Hercules, and Emporer's New Groove. (In order from least to most favorite)
It was a hard choice, but Groove took it. That movie was just too darned funny.

    The Lion King,
    The first Aladdin,
    The Fox and the Hound,
    The Jungle Book,
    101 Dalmatians,
    The Rescuers Down Under,

I like them all. I fear we have seen the end of such things, though.

It's hard to pick. I guess I'll vote for Aladdin because it's the one I saw most recently. God, I must have seen most of these at least 10 times. I didn't see 3 of them, and I'm not sure about Fantasia.

PS: Is Finding Nemo Pixar or Disney? It seems like Pixar is the new Disney nowadays...

    The Little Mermaid.

Sorry, when I was a youngster, Ariel got me interested in half-naked women with barely covered breasteses. Although, you're probably looking for a more family-oriented reason. Hmm... great songs and excellent impalement scene where a giant octopus lady gets rammed through with a giant wooden pole.

Lots of err... adult imagery in that film.

Can't beat Lion King. Especially when timoan and pumba are in the corner and he uses pumba's tail like a shotgun. That was freaking awesome.

Pixar is a 3D animation studio affiliated with Disney I believe. At least all major Pixar animation movies are distrubuted/promoted/... by Disney. Toy Story, Nemo, Bugslife, Toy Story 2,...

The Black Cauldron you mean? With the freakish little dog-thing sacrificing itself? Very weird kid's movie, but it works.

I voted for Fantasia. One of a kind film, inspiring and unconventional. Introduced countless kids to classical music, including me. I can watch it still today and enjoy it.

Pretty much anything from their late '80s-early '90s renaissance is of top quality. But of course, I'm biased because that's what I grew up on. I also like Snow White.

Can't remember the movie too well, but the book was quite good. (spoiler if you haven't read it)

    Great poll! I adore Disney!

In real life I am always too scared to admit to liking Disney. It would mean the utter ruin of my image and the end of my social life.

    My favourites, in order:

Lilo & Stitch. Stitch is just too cute.

Snow White. Still the fairest of them all. I was really scared when I first watched it as a kid.

    Cinderella. Sooo romantic.

Alladin. The genie is really funny.

Peter Pan. Made it into the top five for Tinkerbell alone.

Pixar is owned by Disney nowadays. I do consider them the spiritual heirs to Disney animation. With Pixar included, my favourite film is

Ratatouille. I cried for days after seeing it the first time.

I second seireikhaan in that The Lion King just edges out The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The Emperor's New Groove, Hercules, and Aladdin round out my top 5.

Of course, this is only if you exclude the Pixar films. Among those, Finding Nemo and the two Toy Story films all top the ones I just mentioned in the above paragraph.

The Pixar ones people mentioned are the best by far...

Out of the old school stuff i would have to opt for the lion king, its probably the one i would find least tiring to sit through these days...

I have a major problem with Fantasia... its like one big animated musical with no main storyline... i hate musicals and lack of some kind of story....

Hmm, Lion King always seems to run away with this poll (we've had it before). I think I need to see that one--never have, oddly enough. I've watched a few of the more recent ones with my god-daughters, but not Lion King for some reason.

Lion King, Aladdin, Jungle Book, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, Pocahontas - Classics that I can still enjoy (in secret)

Toy Story - Love this story and the characters.

Hunchback of Notre Dame - I liked the first part where the statues stare on the Count as he prepares to commit Quasi-Modo to death.

Fantasia- Sweeping epics that I cherished for the sound and story (Flying horses? Check. Dinosaurs? Check. Dancing Mushrooms? Check. Crazy God-of-Death scene? Check.)
