I don't know whether this is a bug or WAD but some starting generals are missing the Family Member trait. So far I've noticed it for Phyrrus and for two of the Hai.

Using BI.exe (but just the exe, no shield walls etc) and slightly modded trade value table (silver=2, gold=4). Nothing that should change traits or the initial setup.

Spotted it. I have different info in descr_strat.txt in my barbarian invasion folder to the one in the imperial campaign folder, which you've obviously updated since 1.1. My bad.
I've got this problem too, and I'm not sure how to fix it. I'm running Eb with BI, and that's the only mod.
Run a diff between the EB descr_strat.txt and yours.
