    Default Can you sally out?

Ok, i wanted to check with you before posting a bug, maybe i'm doing something wrong.
I was playing with the UK and i was at war with the Huron.
I managed to capture their capital in Ontario (on the coast of the Great Lakes, down from the Moose Factory ).
Next Turn they come out of the wilderness and besiege me in the town.
I can't sally out of town to attack them, when i select my army and click on the Huron army all i get is: "can't do that sir" and i know i click at the right place because of the pop-up you get when placing the mouse over their army. I tried also with the new drag and drop and same result.

Also when i was marching to the town i noticed i could not attack any of their army into the field it was saying the same stupid "can't do that sir" or tried to compute a route to nowhere.

It was the fist time i was besieged because all the other time you get the option to intercept before they reach the town. This time i didn't receive that option. Fortunately i had a unit at the Moose Factory and i managed to just get it in time to attack their army before my whole besieged stack would have surrendered.

It would have been odd to see a veteran army of one 4 stars general, 5 Hessians infantries, 2 rangers and 1 cannon surrender to 4 odd equip Amerindians.

I have the save game of the bug if needed.

    Interesting!

I would report it as a bug and give all the details you can find.

It may only be a sometimes thing, but it is worth them at least having a look at.

You should be able to come out and fight no matter what!

I had this too, but only when I selected one unit(like in the previous titles). Just select your whole army and then you´ll be able to sally..

I had the same thing with UP in Brussels, didn't try the one unit. Since I decided to attack with more units. I was a bit outnumbered there

I thank you for your advice but i've tried this too. I've pretty much tried selecting all, one or just some part of the army but to no avail.

I've experimented for 15-30min before giving up and hit the next turn button.
I mainly wanted to be sure i did not overlook something and wasn't trying the "no longer supported old way to do things".

Did you try selecting the unit cards with Ctrl A and then manually dragging them onto the campaign map? It works for agents stuck on ships, so maybe it'll work for armies stuck in towns? I've not had this issue, so I don't know if my suggestion is even possible I'm afraid!

There are alot of weird "stuck" issues like these. I remember when I moved my admiral out of a trade fleet(but leaving the rest of the fleet) while on a trading node in one of the theatres that the trade route would stop working and the rest of the fleet would be unable to move. From that point on I just always move entire fleets off the trade nodes and only then remove my admirals. >.<

Yes, i've also tried this new drag and drop thing (after ctrl-a), on the enemy and in the open filed, result: "can't do that sir"

I have noticed that I can't mave troops out of a city directly to another army. I must first move them out of the city and then merge to the two units.

    Same issue maybe?
