As the U.S.A in the independence campaign, mission 4,Great Britian Keeps pirating my trade routes when I refuse to sell them Maine. Is it worth going to war with them over,as they have about 5+ fleets in my waters, and I've been concentrating mainly on land battles,my fleet is almost non-existent,but on the other hand they are hurting my income something severe.

If they pirate your trade routes they must be already at war with you, don't they?
And while the AI won't go for naval invasions (yet) there's no risk if you attack them on land, as you say that you dominate them on land.

I'll never understand why the AI wan'ts Maine so bad, the English pratically own all of Canada but every other turn they offer you cash and tech for Maine.
Who the bugger are you fighting on land that isn't GB?

French in Lousiana, Spanish in FL, Natives in Kentucky, Michigan and Texas.
You start out surrounded by GB. And at war with them as well.

In Chapter III you are at war, he said "mission 4" which I presume is chapter 4. In Chapter IV GB has acknowledged the US as a country, and you are in an unfriendly peace, no longer surrounded. Although you will lost a lot of land and no longer be so happy with the natives, if you were in Chapter III.
:P My bad
But if GB is pirating your trade routes, that means you are already at war.
not according to my diplo, unless it's bugged, they are just ünfriendly"for now.
If it's only flashing the pirate flag, they might be pirating France's trade route or something
