A lot of info there, could have made those first play throughs a heck of a lot easier had I known some of that stuff before hand.
Good find!
When your army has been standing still at the same spot for one whole turn, when attacked, your troops can construct the defensive fortifications. Infantry can deploy the anti-cavalry hedges and trenches, artillery can construct defenses around themselves and Light Infantry can place fougasses. This is called being "dug in" and is represented by sharpened stakes around your army on the campaign map.
This one was pretty usefull, thanks![]()

Yeah, I had to learn a lot of things by trial and error my first campaign.
"Landing troops from a navy to the coast of a region will make the army unable to move for the rest of that turn once it's on the ground. However, if you land your army in a port (yours or an occupied enemy's) it can move in the same turn it lands. "
This was really helpful for my naval invasions...
The .Org now carries a link to this guide under it's "Off-site material" in our Guides forum Table of Contents. Being the first true game-guide for ETW i've seen, this is a must read for a lot of new players.
Be sure to give a big high five to Spraetter if you happen to browse .com forums on behalf of all Orgahs!
Thanks!
And thank Monk, you saved us a sticky and we can find it at your place!

Some things that author might have missed. The up arrows on the trade screen means the prices of those commodities are going up. Also, I believe the upgraded trade ports function as a multiplier. For example, if I have 25 barrels of tea at a region that has a trading port with 2 export routes, I'm exporting 50 barrels. I haven't tested this fully but it seems to be correct. I'm not sure how multiple trade ports affect it.
