    or just refuse to join them when they declare war/have war declared on them

    I thought I saw a button like that once, it would make sense to have one, but I myself had to declare war in order to get rid of it.

    Why do you want to get rid of it? It's rather very silly.

    You get 50% of their income per turn and if they get attacked, just click decline then you won't be dragged into any wars and if you want their territory, just attack them.
