What exactly happens when you beat the game, does it unlock anything? I was probably 3 to 5 turns away from beating the game with my GB long campaign but then at the end of one turn in particular (Year 1773) I got a repeating CTD that I can't stop no matter how I end the turn (changed diplomacy, rearanged troops, ect..) Bummer because I really wanted to see what was in store if I finished the game out. I had high hopes the latest patch would prevent these types of CTDs but I guess we still have a little bit to go.

Well, the website lists 12 playable factions, and you can play all 12 from the start (US withstanding)

Wow, you are really interested in this. I was not sure how you unlocked the US as the 12th. I heard you got it by beating something in the game and I assumed this was either RTI or Grand Campaign. Now that I know nothing happens when you beat Grand Campaign it obviously unlocks if you beat RTI. I assume this where you post "the website said US is unlocked after you beat RTI, why would you assume the webpage would lie to you". Aside from unlockables, I was curious if the game had a cool closing video sequence or something like that. My point is, that if we unlocked factions for completing the GC, it would be a pretty big deal, and would be announced by CA. It wouldn't be the sort of thing they would leave us in the dark about.

I am with you, I was pretty certain there was nothing special if you won. I guess when you are having a hard time getting one of your campaigns past the CTDs to actually finish, in a state of frustration you start to imagine all types of cools things that might happen if you can just go a few more turns and winHmm..
