Thread: Minor Countries

    Default Minor Countries

Are these at all divisible? For example, the Westphalia town on the Rhine says it is part of "Rhineland" but it is also part of Westphalia. Can France take the town for its own, and then make peace with the rest of Westphalia?

Likewise, are the Savoy towns west of the Alps unusable by France, until France takes Turin and all of Savoy? I note that its building was damaged when I took it, and I cannot repair it.

Also - how do you persuade minors to become your protectorate? Bully them, bribe them, both or either?

    Thanks

The towns in a region are yours only if you capture the region capital.

Rhineland = Westphalia. Westphalia is the country's name, Rhineland the region's. As it is a single-region country, it will be destroyed when you take the capital.

You bully or bribe a minor to become your protectorate. I've given them small amounts of money, though in the first case I was testing it, and in the second Westphalia wanted itself to become my protectorate (France, turn 1) for a grand sum of 20 gold!

OK, so there is no advantage in attacking a minor's towns.

...and if you plan to conquer or protect a minor, there is only a disadvantage in attacking its towns.

You can take their cities to reduce their income/happiness/research rate.

Kind of useful as minor factions are often more tough then major ones.

Is that equivalent to 40 pieces of silver?
