I think its yet questionable whether it is able to delete/alter only certain memories or a broad spectrum: Lab rats tend not to be taught overly much (outside of say some conditioning as per article), so them forgetting about that alone could potentially also mean them forgetting more than just that.
My question more or less is, how much evil can something made for good justify for it to be used (or even researched)? Would it be a good idea to let it go to the open market?
Without question, intelligence services WILL use it. But if its available on prescription/hospitals, what are the implications for society as a whole? Next thing you know, could this become the new date rape drug of choice or some recreative drug with major consequences? Used in organized crime or against unwanted people?
