Hi guys,

To update you regarding the Special Forces and bonus content issue that owners of the Special Forces edition are currently experiencing, we are currently working on a solution for this with Valve. We still have a couple of hoops and fixes to work through, but we hope to bring a resolution to you shortly.

This seemed to be functional last night. I could not get the SF edition two days ago, but being a sucker for TW that I am I bought it successfully last night.

October 7, 2009 - Empire: Total War Update Released

Updates to Empire: Total War have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Empire: Total War

Fixed issue with some artillery shot types

We will be rolling out a hotfix tonight for the Warpath Campaign, which will fix the following:

- Some artillery shot types being fired from the wrong artillery unit.
- Updated the Steam store button to indicate that The Warpath Campaign has been released.

The "Special Forces + Bonus content" DLC pack is now free for those who previously purchased the original Special Forces Edition. Customers who own the Special Forces Edition of Empire will automatically receive the bonus content, no action is required. This means the three pre-order units are free for these people.

Special Forces Edition owners who already bought this new DLC will get a refund, and they will enjoy the 3 pre-order units for free. To discuss this, please click here.

Yep just checked Steam and there they all are. Very impressive. I must say I'm having a mighty big turnaround in attitude towards CA with the greatness of the latest patch and this nice gesture.
