Thread: Buying territory

    Default Buying territory

Is it possible to buy needed territories for victory condition off the AI,instead of going to war with them? As the ottoman Empire I attempted to buy Galicia from Poland-Lithuania,as they've been bugging me for Serbia and Bugaria, and I don't want to go to war with them as that would destroy my trade agreements,so I offered them serbia, bulgaria and a $5000 lump-sum payment for Galica, but they declined my offer..

You will need more than that to buy a territory, I read from other post that at least 90000.
Another plan is trying to trade a region for another they may be interested.

Some regions are hard bought but it takes a load of cash and sometimes techs to get the agreement.

If the place is almost worthless you may pick it up cheep but that one is usually well developed and it may take between 150,000 and 200,000 plus some techs to get it. Also being on good terms helps a lot but they still won’t let you have it on the cheap. Sending an agent into the capital will let you know what it is worth per turn and maybe some of the improvements.

I know as the UP I had to pay dearly for New York but I did get it in the end.

I bought NY from GB as UP for only 84K. It was early in the game though. And it was all the cash I had on hand.

@ OZ: What are your relations like? Does Poland view you as friendly or very friendly? If not, you might need to give state gifts for several turns.

Also, capture Morocco if you can and offer it to Poland. Most AI factions will gladly swap for it, for whatever reason.

For me it seems to be 40-50k berlinbucks to buy underdeveloped/low population provinces from 'very friendly' states in my Prussia campaign. 80k and some techs got me Lithuania from Poland, though .-.
