Crashes at the beginning of battle

I'm playing as Rome at 241BC. I've been fighting Epeiros near Segestica and I'm having some problems at the beginning of the battles. A lot of times right after I click start Deployment and zoom out the game will freak out, the game will turn to white, and I'll have to press escape, and quit battle (UI still works.) Does anyone know what could be causing this? I've downloaded all of the official fixes. This doesn't happen every time, I'll often have to try once or twice to get the battle going though

No, I don't think I've heard of this problem before. Is it limited to that area? If so, you can teleport the enemy army a tile or two away and battle them there instead.
