While he has shown improvement and increased maturity at various points in time, those improvement have unfortunately always been temporary. He quickly and regularly slides back to the problematic behavior that we have seen demonstrated here recently. After such a long period of tolerance and attempts to help, the staff at the Org have simply run out of patience. We have given it an honest effort, but we all have limits, and Warman reached those limits a few days ago.

As regrettable as the situation is, this is Warman's fault and his alone. When you repeatedly bite the hand that feeds you, you will eventually find yourself hungry.

The fact of being a "noob" or not is irrelevant when it comes to following Org rules.

As TinCow stated, staff has given Warman more than enough chances. He managed to ruin every single one of them.

As you may have noted, Warman is not permanently banned; we will discuss and reconsider his membership status in 2010.

That's less than 8 months.

Well, if Warman is to have any opportunity at rapprochement, he needs to do it himself. Your efforts are very admirable, but Warman has to prove it himself. He has contacted Org staff and posted on the forums with 'alt' accounts several times since he was banned, and without exception his words have been hostile and without any indication that he has seen the error in his ways. At this point, Warman has so alienated those who make the decisions on long-term bans like this, that it's likely impossible for him to talk his way back in here. However, I can guarantee you that his current strategy has no chance at all of working. You don't win your way back into someone's good graces by continuing to disparage them and blame them for your own faults.

In any case, the ban is not permanent; he is only banned through calender year 2009. That's 8 months away, and that's honestly a tiny amount of time in the greater scheme of things. If Warman doesn't keep digging himself into a deeper hole, he'll have his opportunity to prove that he is reformed if he just exercises a little patience.

I am torn in half here. Person is my friend; person does things which disrupt my favorite forum filled with other friends. Person stops talking to me. He may have deserved his ban, but as a special favor just for me, please don't mock him; especially regarding the home schooling thing anymore. That's getting tiresome and it was never welcome or funny, Tribesman.

Apologies; he deserved what he got but there is no need to stomp all over him now that he's gone, and it's been said by other members; mocking home-schooled people is offensive not just to him. I went to public school and I find it distasteful.

no offense taken.. i have made many personal friends over the years... and acquiring information has always been something i was good at, to the ire of tosa no doubt.

Any kind of hacking into Tosa's account if it was done, for prank or whatever, is an egregious breach of security. Anything even remotely like that should have been insta-banned in my opinion. I would not have been so tolerant, and I don't care who did it either. Could have been my own family, I would have insta-banned them permanently. That kind of nonsense cannot be tolerated ever.

Warman is my friend too, but if anyone gains access to Tosa's account, that's my 2 years of posting here safely, my privacy, and this entire forum at stake, I believe. If that was done, and it's not my place to say if it was or not, that means it's an attack on the security and privacy of this forum with thousands of members.

I honestly don't think Warman is anything more than a silly kid, but I also do think that silly kids have to be punished for doing bad things. Warman was and still is my friend. I never knew much about him, but he was friendly and always seemed like a nice guy. I am not disputing his ban if it is for the hacking reason, because something like that does deserve I ban I think. However, he was NOT banned immediately after that, which makes me think it was more for his recent actions.
I PMed him and tried to warn him to ignore certain trouble making members and no be defensive, but when you are a young kid, it is easy to see the world as against you and you have to fight everyone. I don't think his recent actions deserve a ban till 2010. One other member on this board who I will not mention has said much worse to other members many times over. The only thing Warman did that is any worse is flaming Tosa and creating other accounts. Like I said though, he is a silly young kid. He did not come on and disrupt the forum, or spam or flame other members. He immaturely protested his ban and said he thought Tosa was a jerk. I do not see why a silly kid should be banned for something like that. If it was for his war with Tribesman...well that was hardly one-sided, and from what I saw (and I am aware that Tribesman removed some of his posts) Warman was getting a lot more than what he was giving.
I realize that the mods are angry with him now (with good reason), but do you think he really should get a ban till 2010 for that? If it is for the hacking, ok, no problem, but I think the time gap rules that out as anything more than an irritant.

As for the ban , thats simple . The warnings we both got were very specific , they were for serious breaches of forum rules , the warnings said very clearly that we should not do certain things to attempt to get round the warning , one of us straight away went and did exactly what we had specificly been told not to do and so got another warning , then went and did it again and again and so got the temporary ban .

About your argument as to why you chose to insult Warman and all other homeschooled members of this forum, I am not buying your argument. I think you are just making excuses for being offensive and rude.

@Glenn, yeah, he does need to grow up, he ain't the only one on this forum that does. Do you really think that banning him from here will help though? He will just find another forum to go to. You know, I think he would have learnt a lot if he was made to accept responsiblility and given even a one month ban. When you ban him for the rest of the year though, he is probably not gonna ever come back, and if he does, it will be to tell everyone off.
If you are gonna ban him, do it for a good reason, not one he can look back at and think "bunch of , that was completely unfair". If the ban was for the hacking, then he should have gotten it right after the hacking incident and told why.

Warman is 16 now, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm almost sorry but I just have to say this topic is starting to become really funny, I wouldn't even be surprised to see it locked soon.

I know I might completely destroy my nice guy imagine if I haven't yet but I'm not going to cry about Warman. He seemed even more childish than Vuk seems naive (no offense intended, you're a nice guy mate) sometimes. What surprises me a bit is that Tribesman even bothered to have a flame war with him and that some people who are a lot older and a lot more mature (even if they seem slightly naive sometimes ) actually considered him a close friend. Think about it this way: Especially a loving father has to teach his kids a lesson now and then to bring them onto the right track. My dad punished me for some things I found really unfair when I was a kid but nowadays I am thankful he did or otherwise I might have been banned here as well by now.

It's a long ban, yes, but that gives him some time to think about why one should not put his fingers into the mouth of a shark because they might get banned permanently. As it is they can be stitched back on later, he should consider himself lucky.

As for behind the scenes information gathering, that's pretty funny as well because it's usually as secret as the official information gathering which makes it exactly as believable and I'm sure we can pick sides and have a flame war over who is right.
