Meh, I never liked democracy myself. A good strong leader with a solid, non-paranoid successor what I support. No-one would be better for Russia then Putin, and I hope he has a good successor in mind...

Total autocratic power always corrupts. People just can't handle that. In this aspect, perhaps the ideology of having a single ruler who is being controlled by some sort of democratic power is better.
