    Default So Many Naval Invasions

So I'm currently playing a game as Epeiros on H/H and not only are the Greeks getting off of Rhodes, and sailing to attack Cyprus, but the Carthaginians are frequently shuttling soldiers from Africa to Sicily in an attempt to keep me from Lilibeo.

I was wondering what caused this strange occurance, the last few games i played, KH had 4 full stacks chillin on their favorite island and the Macedonians lost everything but Cydonia and proceeded to only build a single boat which of course it only used to blockade my ports as opposed to moving its armies off its island.

Default AW: So Many Naval Invasions

Karthadastim often ships troops from Iberia, Corsica, Sardinia and the Balearic Islands to Africa. In one of my KH camapigns, where I hold Kyrene and was at war with them, I frenqunetly faced Iberian Lancearii as well as Balearic and Sardinian troops.

In my new Makedonian Campaign, I kicked Epeiros out of Greek and they went rampage in Italia. I joined the happy Barbaroi killing from the North. After the Romani had lost most of their settlements and Epeiros had taken Capua and Roma, they shiped some troops from Italia to Corsica and attacked Karthadastim (not sure if they were still at war with them). Unfortunately they signed a peace treaty and the tropps went back to Italia.

Same camapign, this time KH. Isolated on Rhodos for a few years they started a naval invasion to Anatolia, attacked Halikarnassos and took it (it didn't rebel to them)! Then they went rampage in Anatolia and took Sardis, Pergamon and Nikaia.

And yes, I play with RTW.exe. Ceterum censeo Romam esse delendam.

Nice, Are you also using an unmodified .exe? I just wonder why the AI's use of a navy is so erratic, either they seem to make extensive uses of it, or they neglect it all together. I'm still crossing my fingers in hope that the Casse will venture off of Britain, but I'm not holding my breath.

That kind of activity is commonplace with BI.exe

it depends really on every campaign
hell ptolemaio and seleukid is slugging it out by the (Jerusalem city, forgot name) and seleukid has lost half of anatolia to me (alliance, trade rights, and i have given money and tribute to them) and pontus is in chersonesos warring with sauromatae while hai is just sitting there. Baktria has conquered and split pahlava while pahlava, saka and baktria is having a 3 way war by antiocheia margiane

Whats even more funny, i moved KH to emporion and massalia, they wooped ass and is holding northern iberia fighting a 3 way war with lusitania and qarthadast. While the banished epirotes has 4 navies transporting troops from kyrene to sicily and up italy.

    Wats even more surprising,

Seleukid is allies with pontus, sauro, baktria, me, romans and saka

seleukid has 1 enemy, ptolemaio and all the rest is just minding themselves... wat a wierd campaign, ill post a pic of it later if someone requests it :D

...Or alex.exe, which is what I play. Incidentally, I am also playing Eperios, but VH/M.

Not to mention there is a script that spawns a Casse army(s) Europe after they conquer all of Britain and Ireland.

The difference is that the BI naval invasion is incredibly bad to the point where the AI will strip most of their starting armies and subsequent armies to land in the exact same provice(same place to be exact over and over again, totally neglecting their own homelands(beware of Greeks in Tarantium).

Alex on the other hand isn't nearly as foolish so I would recommend that along with the AI retraining, better AI in general, and slightly improved stability over BI. Plus I think that Alex has a higher unit limit if you want to mod in stuff yourself.
Fighting isn't about winning, it's about depriving your enemy of all options except to lose.
