Apparantly theres a new delete saved games button on the patch, I checked and I have the button so mine musta updated while I was away from keyboard, you should check there too
If you are not playing in the offline mode then you will have the patch.
It is easy to tell. Look at the trade value for ivory. If it is below 50 with a developed campaign then you have it.
I don’t know if the upkeep values for troops and ships automatically changed also, but if you look at the hull strength of your ships you should also be able to tell.

If you have a 'delete save game' button feature now then you have the newest patch. It came with this week's patch.
There's a small v1.2.0 note on the main menu screen (left corner, down) if Steam has upgraded your ETW version Tuesday. Also, if you check your game properties on your Steam account, you have an "update history" option that lets you know how many updates (and when) have been applied. The latest patch was on April 29 and there has been a quick fix update on May 1.
