    Default Revenge of Rome

In my recent Epeiros campaign, I had been engaged in a rather difficult fight against Rome. Eventually I was able to push them back and some time later took Rome itself and nearly wiped out the faction. They had exactly one large army commanded by their last family member. It was on the march to take back Rome, so I had little choice but to attack them and hopefully kill them off for good.
Initially this was impossible because some Roman reinforcements made the game crash, but I bribed them and took out the army. Rome was officially dead.
Now here's the weird part. When I clicked the end turn button, the game crashed. Used to this, I started EB back up and went for the save game. The minute I clicked on the save game, the game crashed. This is permanent as far as I can tell. Other save games work fine, it's only the one after I had killed Rome that's broken.
WTF is this?! Is this Rome's twisted revenge? Does Rome Total War simply end when Rome is destroyed? Is it a bug? Or what?

(also weird: after the Roman faction was destroyed Eleutheroi Roxolani horsemen were spawned in Rome's last city)

That's one of the funniest things I've ever heard Though it must pain you not being able to play your game. I'm afraid I can't help you, but I can advise you to turn to Bovi. He might have an idea of what's wrong.

Dit you check AP's thread with the Osprey book pictures? He's usually a helpful guy.. (edit: osprey page is hard to find, AP also edited his sig, removing the picture link + the balloons. I am also unable to check his public profile)

    Don't know about Methuselah though....

Anyway, do you have to lower yourself to their level?

    Sorry for the OT

You use BI.exe right, thats the only way I can explain roxolani units?

Now that is really strange I'm afraid I can't help - I myself started with EB 1.2

But just one note: why are you sure he is using BI. There are roxolani units in EB:

    https://www.europabarbarorum.com/fac...tae_units.html

    Rauxsa-alanna Baexdzhyntae (Roxolani Riders)
    Rauxsa-alanna Uaezdaettae (Roxolani Noble Cavalry)

Although I have no idea how they got to Rome....

Weird units appearing in totally random places in not unexplainable and is certainly not something that is due to the BI executable. I remember someone who had a city somewhere in Germania revolt, where Persian Archers spawned. It has something to do with the Eleutheroi capital, IIRC.

Oops, my bad, I was thinking about the BI roxolani faction..

I started a campaign with them lately so I was thinking about those not the region with regional units on the steppes.

I thought the Eleutheroi capital was Terhazza... or atleast that seemed reasonable...

Eleutheroi capital is usually somewhere near Boii lands. At least it was the place I saw it most of the times.

The Eleutheroi Capital is the city North of Dalmion, Segestica I think.

IIRC the eleutheroi capital can recruit any unit.

The Eleutheroi can recruit any unit in their capital. The team tried to make Terhazza the Eleutheroi capital, the A.I. changes it to make sure the capital is in the centre of their possessions. Hence it often is Segestica. To make matters even weirder, if a city revolts to the Eleutheroi, it can be designated capitol before the rebel stack is spawned, so the rebel stack can contain units from anywhere and everywhere.
