Well, I don't think It would hurt if we started one of these again.. Hope MAA doesn't think Im stepping on his turf or anything though.

This is mine... named: Don't mess with the Spartans (Soory about cropping, I didn't use minimal UI)
Notice a pile of enemies behind them...

This one is called: Nowhere to run, nowhere to go.

Battle of Babylon
I think Greek Gods watched the battle in pain from Tower of Babylon. After this battle there was no one to defend Seleukeia, Pahlava entered Seleukeia without much resistance.

Meh, this one isn't so great, but I suppose it will do for now. I just got the full version of Fraps, so my screenshot-taking days are just beginning.
Phalanx Strong (pun on the renowned
"Legion Strong" video).

A pretty old picture of mine:
Syrakousai Vs Barbaroi
Fluvius Camillus 22:08 05-05-2009
Guess this will have to do, I had second thougths when posting the Carthaginian ram back invention...
I call it:
Hold your horse(s)
The horse refuses to charge a fellow animal in the back.

Fluvius Camillus, what about the elephant? I thought that was against the rules??
Megas Methuselah 22:28 05-05-2009
Actually, it was only a suggestion. But why would he advise no elephants?

Because that is basically an instant win there. Pictures with elephants, especially elephants in battle seem quite dramatic.
But anyway, who puts "No Elephants" in "suggestions"? What does that mean? That is either a concrete rule or nothing.

That picture has little chances anyway. Plus, the elephants are rather small there.
I love the Syrakousai shields.
Cool detail.
BTW, is that dolphins on them around the goddess' head? or whales?

Oh, I wouldn't say that. I'd be my first pick out of the current pictures, anyway. Reminds me of Balaam and his donkey.

Should be dolphins. But dolphins are whales as well...
I got fraps and know how to take screenies but, i don't know how to publish them on the .org. How???????????????????? Do i copy and paste?
You upload them onto a hosting site like photobucket, or upload directly onto the org in one of your galleries. Then you copy and paste the urls, and add the [img] tag to them.
Fluvius Camillus' horse it great, only things that turn me off are the white border (can remove easily) and the red flag.

Relentless
Guess its my turn.. This is from my AS campaign. About 255BC and the Pahlavians attack Hekatompylos. My usual strategy is to have 2-3 Phalanxes hold them off in the streets. I swear this battle lasted about 45 minutes. THOSE ARMORED HORSE ARCHERS JUST DONT DIE!!!!! They litaraly pushed my 3 phalanxes back into the town square and slaughtered me. Never saw that happen.
They had about 3/4 of Armoured horse archers and then the rest were some archers.. They kicked my butt

Um, I think just for fairness.. Idk, i just copy and pasted what MAA had on Marches competition.

I love yours Vasiliyi - it really does look epic. -M
here is one of a confrontation between a gang of carthaginians and some Galatians (edit : ta to Paullus, he has better eyesight than me :) ) on a hot grassy plain somewhere in Libya....
cheers,
Pobs
The No Elephants suggestion started after the March competition, because for the last 3 competitions or something someone had just posted a screenie of elephants in battle and it wiped everything else off the map. Had it gone on further, people would just start taking screenies of elephants and nothing else.
still, i think fluvius' picture should be allowed under your new rules...its a great shot because of the horse and rider, not because of the elephants. but to have ANY chance of winning, he needs to crop out the white border and repost it.
and doesn't pobs' shot show Ptolemaic Galatians, rather than Romans?

No, they are not. Look down the picture and you see Romani UI left-overs.
Cullhwch 00:29 05-07-2009
So what? Those long scabbards still scream Galatian! He could have just modded the units into the Roman regional recruitment tree.
