Power problem

I have posted this in the Apothecary, but didn't get a lot of feedback, so on a recomendation, I thought I would try here instead.
The problem is that when I play MTW2 on my PC after about an hour or so the PC switches off suddenly - not via a close down screen or what ever, but more like the plug had been pulled out the wall. The PC powers up again OK - no system restore start or anything like that - and if I return to MTW2 again after say 20 minutes it does it again. It does not do it with any other programme - but to be fair MTW2 is probably the most demanding graphically - and the PC is often on for a long time.

The machine is only about a year old and is a reasonable spec - AMD dual core 2.7 G processor, 2 g of RAM and a Nvidia GForce 8600 so it should be man enough for MTW2 I would think. The game runs perfectly until the blackout - no lag or apparent graphic problems etc - and when I reboot after the cut out the game loads from the last autosave fine and continues perfectly until the next cut out.

So any ideas?? - it feels like an overheating problem, but it only ever happens with this game - for example RTW plays fine for hours.

In a word - no! looks worth a look - I will give it a try and see what happens - thanks for the advice, I will report back when I have more to report.
