When will EBII come out?

I have that AAR going on, and once EBII comes out, no one will care of EBI any more and thus no one will read my AAR. So I'd like to know if I have to speed up!

I know that you can claim "we don't know either, it will be done when it's done," etc., so I let me make a proposal:

Write when you don't expect it before summer,
write when you don't expect it before Xmas,
and write when you don't expect it before easter 2010.

Tellos maybe saying that the team doesn't know. The reason for this is revealed in this TWC thread. Even if they do have an estimate, they are unwilling to reveal because, well, these estimates will no doubt be treated as promises.

Based on my personal experiences as a modder- I would say one can expect 1.0 by not earlier than 2011(First Quarter).

However this defination of 1.0 assumes that the entire settlement battlemap system has been rehauled, so christmas 2011 would be my second bet.

Of course. You are not the only one, however. So no: no PM's for you; you just wait like everybody else does. Why people seem so overly excited about an apparent release of EB 2 is beyond me, though: I mean we haven't even started a round of beta tester call-up/recruitment yet.

well, Hax is clearly messing with our brains; EB is not delayed, and it makes no sense to be so; they are IIRC still selecting and refingin factions and their units, no?

the start of this thread made me sad. it seems to me that the people that are really keen on this mod, at least enough to take the time to contribute to the forums, have something of a sense of how the eb team works, and realise that they are not a typical modding team. they don't do a dev blog, they don't do two-line&one-image new previews every other day, and they have the patience to say "it'll be ready when it's ready". the thread mentions that the team are a little like "true democracy" - i for one think that is amazing.

i wonder if we could get a guide up to all the casual visitors who don't want to do a forum search for the release date and don't want to trawl through the threads getting a sense of how the team operates (which would give a better indication of what kind of previews one might expect, and more generally what levels of information about progress one might expect), so that people could see "oh, this team are different, they will take their time and make something utterly fantastic, i'm just gonna have to be patient".
