Thread: Spartan skin?

  1. #1

    Question Spartan skin?

Has anybody did a reskin of spartan soldiers for eb(something like in darths mod).
I think that EB is one of the best games(not mods) coz its nothing like rtw,eb ,etc, and the only thing that bug me is poor work on spartans. But on the other hand i like the fact that their strenght was somewhat reduced witch i think serves the history right coz its known that they fought always on the right flank of the army letting theirs allays take the brunt of the opposing armies elite forces(good way to get rid of allays that u dont particuraly like).
Anyway is there reskin of spartans for eb,and if so where culd i get my hands on it

    Cool Re: Spartan skin?

You could try other mods for the skin. EB has the most historically accurate Spartan skin, and the Spartans are not as uber because they were suffering a significant decline.

I agree. I despise the, albeit accurate, retarded spartans with the Pylos helmet. I think they are better with the corinthian helmet, regardless of time period.

Well i didnt know that those skins are the most acurate,as u know in a lot of documentaries, not to mention the movies they are represented differently.
for instance i was just watching brave heart(that was the laugh)-mel and french princess-when she have come to the english court wallace was resting in a few places, son of shoshenk-gay,where infact was a very capeable leader(beside the fact bruce got the best of him),yada yada..;but docs to do the same is just not right.
So wuld u guys be so kind to point me to the right direction to find out more abt spartan armour(the new things to learn will not hurt u unless u decide to start a revolution)

You could use another mod spartan.

1- Find a mod (for RTW) with a Spartan skin you like.
2- Add that unit to EB or, as you wish, replace the original Spartan with it.

Now of course you will need a bit of a detailed intructions to pull that off...

You wont find a mod here with a "cool" Spartan skin, mostly cause the Corinthian helmet stopped being used a hundred or more years before EB time frame.

You need to edit EDU, EDB, and move the skin files between the mods. If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, then it might be quite difficult for you to do it, so I suggest you to stay with the historical boring Spartans

(Now... if you wish to use PayPal to get someone to do those changes for you... )
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Just kidding, I dont really have the time, nor RTW installed, to do it.

He he,dont worry abt me changeing the skins.Just need textures and some typeing involved, and that work is worth about 1 cent, and that wuld be a rip off.
U c i didnt know that those helmets were outdated in eb time frame,so thanx very much for the info.As a result im not interesanted in them anymore, and the worst part is that i found the skins(three variations)-at least they look cool, and i think that darth has spartan skin too.Looks like i need to hit the books to brush up on my history i guess

If you want a cool spartan, you can download this skin pack fdom twccente: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=1225 they are very nice skins, and I would use them myself but I don't think it fits the rest of the game as the stylse of skinning is different. They have four spartans plus a wealth of other hoplites.

i agree 100%. i also hate that they don't do phalanxes(but now i use a phalanx mod that gives hoplites more phalanx-like formations, though still not abilities.)

salac, please use spellcheck. sorry to be off-topic, but i honestly cannot read most of the words you type. not to mention the fact that the sentences make little sense.
