It's a Jack Russel Terrier. They're insane. It's not a bug, it's a feature. They were bred to fight rodents underground, so insanity is necessary. If you see madness in their eyes, it's because you're seeing madness. Saw one bite clean through a girl's hand in the park one time, completely unprovoked.

I'd rather raise a rescue pit bull than deal with a JRT. (Apologies in advance to the JRT owners whom I have now mortally offended.)

These are bred to dig out rabbits, Jack Russels are crazy though, they used to hunt lions and bears with them, they are utterly fearless and very energetic, and need a strong hand, very dominant and smart, fun dogs but not for beginners.

A pic of my dear departed Apollo. That dog was always grinning. Had a head as big as a 5 gallon bucket and a bark like Cujo. The sweetest tempered dog I've ever owned, he wouldn't harm a fly because...well because he just didn't want to. 200 lbs. of lovable, goofy, slobbering, playful puppy dog. I really miss my happy-go-lucky Big Dumb!

Here are some pictures of him earlier in the year when I brought him over to my family's before I left for Hungary. He is bonding with their dog, Volk in these pictures.

















DESPITE what the above pictures make him look like, MikeO is NOT a vicious brute. He is actually an extremely gentle, sweet tempered dog. My sis calls him 'Poochey' because he loves to rest his head on and sit of people's laps. :P

He is an English Pointer Rottweiler mix and weighs about 135lbs. He is lightning fast and good on his feet though despite his size. He is my definition of the perfect dog. (yes, the Vuk is very proud of his little puppy wuppy) The little runt beside him is Volk, the lab-shep mix. (he is NOT a very good dog. :P He attacks the cats, bites humans, and tears clothes. :P) Despite what he looks like when he is playing, Mike is just a big lovable lug who wouldn't hurt a thing.

Gotta say Raf, I never thought I would say this about a dog like that, but he is really cute. That is the way they are with Mike, most people are terrified of him. Actually though, believe it or not, it is the guys who are more afraid. Almost all the females who come to my house will if not at first, eventually approach him and end up developing a friendship with him when they realise he is just a softie, but most guys refuse to go anywhere near him. :P I think the women are better at spotting that he is just a big baby.
