We've seen a few polls in the Frontroom recently. I like voting in polls, it makes a change from just typing stuff. So, this poll is to see how many people agree with me in the simple, efficient way only a poll could.

A well-written poll on a sufficiently narrow topic can be interesting, but a poorly designed poll or one asking a loaded question is in my view deeply unhelpful. Parliament regulars may remember a certain poll a few months ago which was structured in such a way as to effectively permit only one response, then followed by strident claims by the member who created the poll that it had "proved" his point.

In particular, I would argue that the inclusion of the "Gah!" option, while often construed as a frivolous option for those who simply like voting and don't care about the subject of the poll, is actually essential, since leaving it out effectively removes the ability to register a vote saying "I think the poll is poorly structured/asking a loaded question/asking a question that is too complicated for a multiple choice answer".

I want to vote "Gah!" purely for the reason that I do not have the option to vote "Gah!".
