Mostly I try not to blitz. and I try to RP a bit.
Once i finish a campaign (only done that once) or get close to finishing before a repeating ctd crops up (sadly this has happened a lot) then i try not to follow the same pattern again.
EG i played the Casse close to success by 1. taking the islands 2. taking scandanavia 3. working my way down the rhine, across gaul and into hispania.
This time I crossed the channel on the first turn and took the Belgic provinces. then i slowly took the isles and now i have sent out a couple of recuited generals to rp an allied kingdom springing up in nw his[pania (only local troops allowed in those stacks, they're my celtiberian buddies).
Likewise once i (almost) finished the KH, I play them as migrated factions. very cool to play as Syrakousai, I suicided all my spartans, and sailed my young fm's to Syracuse but they sank en route (thanks, pirates)! My last FM was the old dude in Rhodes so it was touch and go but I won a desperate battle with a leaderless stack vs Mwessana I think it was and scored a man of the hour, and my dynasty was renewed.
So i try not to repeat successful processes. I get the odd tip for varying campaign strategy here, very usful to see what you've done there..
