Actually, do you know why the US sells its oil onto other people while it imports Oil from the middle east?

There are different grades and ultimately, the US has bad quality oil. It is actually far cheaper to ship it from places like Saudia Arabia using their oil opposed to the domestic oil at home.

Iskander, for the record, isn't this the period where USSR tries to invade Afghanistan and gets beaten back by the Taliban? An attack on Iran would get all the other countries such as Syria, Egypt, Lebenon, etc all involved during this time period. Also, it could united Iran's domestic enemies into joining forces against the USSR.

The cost of extracting and refining oil is not the same anywhere and I feel that such economic factors cannot be properly represented with an abstract model.

India could join a Middle Eastern Alliance. Afterall, there is a large muslim presence in the nation.

@ Drzzt:Mainly I am waiting for my computer, with photo-shop installed, to come back from repair which will probably take anything from 5 days to 2 weeks I know its a pain but what can I say, there's been allot of weird and frustrating things going wrong for me this month.

Either way I probably wouldn't have started now anyway seeing as the "most important exams of my life" started 2 days ago.

@Beskar: The NPC factions will be controlled by me but will mostly sit around doing nothing until a player interacts with them or they get involved in one of the historical events that that will occur.
