    Default Computer Crashing..

well, it had been awhile since i played eb, and i decided to start playing again. but no matter with what faction, or how many times i reinstall, the game will cause my computer to crash.. whether it be on the campaign map or during a battle.. ive played EB since the beta with no problems.. well as minimal as it gets. this led me to believe that it was my computer.. i actually reformatted my computer in hopes of getting EB to work.. but even after that, it still crashes and shuts off my computer when i play.

sometimes i may be able to play a couple years with no crash, other times its every season.. any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Are you saying that EB crashes, or that your computer crashes? I suspect you have a hardware problem if it's your computer crashing. You should run memtest overnight, try to upgrade and downgrade your video drivers, and run a scandisk surface scan (another night).

These are listed in order of what I think is the likelyhood of error among them.

Memtest or memory test, a tool to check the condition of the RAM in your PC. Might be among the list of available options (in the menu with other options like 'Safe Mode') when you press F8 on start up.

In general, if there is mentioned something on the internet which you don't know what is, a quick search on Google will help. There are several products for stress-testing your memory, and Memtest is one of them which are free. You can also try Prime95, its primary purpose is testing whether overclocking works or not, but it can be useful for testing hardware too.
