Heh, I can imagine the recoil of that cumbersome weapon. I've got some experience with a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, the NSV. That gun was hard to handle with a weighted tripod using short bursts.
One thing about FPS games, that's not entirely realistic, is reloading. Let's say your Kalashnikov's clip has only a few bullets left, and you start reloading. Now, an enemy jumps around the corner, laughs at you reloading. Even though you removed the clip, there's still a bullet in the chamber, and your finger ready on the trigger. But no, you can't shoot, just wait for the reloading animation to finish. Meanwhile the enemy empties his clip into you, and you get to spectate for a while.![]()
