I still havent seen an invasion yet. Must be my bad luck. Not that it really bothers me all that much.
The French attempted to take an island from me

CA said that naval invasions can occur but that it will not happen very often. I think that you should be pleased when you have witnessed one![]()

I still think there is going to be at least 50 posts after the next patch about how there is too much naval invasion activity.![]()
Well MTW 2 was kind of gay that if you took an island, about 6 AI factions were scripted to take action. The good news was you could take an island and sometimes you'd get 4 different factions on there then leave.
Enjoy battle it out for yourselves, of course they'd all become passive then wasting those armies on upkeep

I think they said that was caused by the ocean being counted as a single giant province so the AIs through all the islands were really close to them.
Fighting isn't about winning, it's about depriving your enemy of all options except to lose.

Yeah, thats why not having seen one yet doesnt bother me too much. I want to see it happen but I'm not sure I want to get constantly invaded by my enemies. Thats my worry in an updated patch where the AI spams naval invasions like mad and I have to play nothing but a defensive war and unable to go on the offensive due to only enough resources to do anything but defend my own country.

What used to annoy me was the 'picnic on the beach' scenario that used to occur all time. The AI would just dump an army on the coast and leave it there. Presumably, at least that won't happen now that you can't have access to foriegn soil without declaring war.
