I haven't played enough for that yet. In M2TW I used to do silly things once I'd had a few big campaigns, like take Russia and avoid having to fight the mongols by invading Britain and holding just that island and nothing else. Of course you'd still end up super rich, but at first money was so tight I'd have to make war, take a foreign city, and demolish all the buildings and abandon it because of my self-imposed rules. After a while mainland Europe was like a desert and I still only had a few provinces.
Then there were the "one city" games I used to play.
You can make your own fun in any game.

Enough. Either play nice, or don't play at all. That goes for everyone.![]()
Personally, I still have yet to get more than 30 years or so into a campaign. There are still too many things I find frustrating and/or lackluster about the game that preclude from becoming more immersed. The potential is definitely there, but it needs more patching/updating first.

That's why I don't steamroll or blitz the map.

Quite, I note someone plays with only 1 trade node/theatre and max 5 ships which overall would seem a great idea to limit humans economic abilities, certainly IMHO this is the single most abused feature of the game. I hope the ai will attack trade nodes in 1.3.
And of course taking advantage of few/no naval invasions allows humans a huge advantage, but hard to play without it.
