Can't get EB to start up

Hey guys sorry if this has been posted before, my first psot here and I spent a while looking around for anything like this.

I followed the guide for installing EB onto my game but it didn't work. My RTW is a gold edition that i downloaded, it came with the preorder for Empire Total War so I'm guessing it runs a bit differently than if I had a disc with this on.. Also could be the fact I have Vista.

The game installed automatically into Program Files, but after reading the guide I took the RTW folder it was in and moved it to C:/Users/Saved Games, and Installed EB in there with it. The problem I've been having is I'll install it and it seems like there's no problems, but everytime I start up the play button on EB it will just play RTW, no differences. Also the Run EB and Run RB Troubleshooting don't seem to work.

This has happened to me when I installed it in Program Files with the RTW folder, and it's happenign still now that i've moved it out of there to the User section. I've even tried starting it up in Administrator mode, and the same thing. Everytime it would just start up RTW like nothing had happened.

Thanks for any help and advice guys, really looking forward to trying this mod out.

You are using steam, right? I take it you are. Just say so, instead of leaving guesswork, mmkay?

Anyways, go into the "my games" tab in steam.
Right-click RTW:Gold
Open "properties"
In "Set launch options" paste this in.

-show_err -mod:eb

Now you can play.

No it's not on Steam. Sorry if I didn't clarify that. It's on it's own and not run through any other program. Almost like I had installed it on a disc, but I never had a disc and it was downloaded from a service called TryMedia.

Eh, whatever. Just right-click the shortcut to RTW, and stick that at the end of "target"

Wasn't able to find anything that you mentioned when looking around on the shortcut for RTW. Would appreciate it if anyone has any other ideas.

When you click on "properties" a new window should pop up with the target in plain view.

Managed to get that part sorted out. Now it will open the game up, but freezes up as soon as it opens and I'm just stuck with the opening Europa Barbarorum image.

It is just loading. I reccomend you just leave your computer after starting and going out for lunch or something. EB takes a while to load the first time, but it should improve.
