IMHO reputation seems to be the one of the big things missing from diplomacy. Or am I mistaken???I don't confess to knowing the subtleties of ETW diplomacy, just my impression.

examples
1. declare war on someone , drag allies in , take a few provinces then make peace leaving allies still at war, not very nice behavior to your friends and you should take a large reputation hit presumably most easily implemented by decrease in your relationship o meter ratings.(RORR).

2.Backstab an ally, say taken all of India except ally Mysore, walk in and destroy them in 1 turn, this should be viewed by every other nation as poor form and you should take a big RORR hit.

3. Refuse to aid an ally/protectorate who is declared on, eg. I regularly get Morocco as a protectorate, usually it gets declared on and I walk away with no penalty having pocketed $ as them being my protectorate for a while for no cost, leaving Morocco friendless.

4. Break a peace after only a few turns, say 20 turns before you can redeclare without penalty, (or even this 20 turns modified by some tech or other mechanism so it would be a more fluid dynamic). At present this is a big exploit, removing your opponents troops back to thier lands while you recoup only to backstab them a few turns later.

5. I'm sure there are others to be added. Please enlighten me.

BTW another exploit is giving away military access, the ai values this highly, but never uses it(well I never seen them use it). personally a think military access is a crock at present.
