Default Things that need to change CA

Random declarations of war! Especially on protectorates who are not even in the same theater as the belligerent. European nations declaring war on Louisiana, New Spain, or The 13 Colonies is just ridiculous. It is also ridiculous to be at war with half the world for no good reason other than random idiocy.

Non specific piracy on trade routs! What is this? A rout is blocked without anyone being on it? Usually the only way to clear it is to take some region. But you can only figure it out by guess work.

One port being blocked eliminating all trade to a nation or a theater even though there are several other ports available.

Undocumented changes! If you are going to change something at least tell us so and tell us how it works! The manual was slim enough but now even that little is becoming irrelevant.

I am sure there are more.

Anyone care to chime in here?

    Agree on all points.

Especially the "one port blockaded - all trade stops" thing is extremely annoying.

Also make the "protectorates doing their own policy" thing stop. It is just ridiculous.

Should it not also be that we can decide to choose WHICH allies to invite to a war, as opposed to the option we have now of all or none? If I'm playing as France and Cherokee nations declare war on me, and i am allied to both Iroquois confederacy and Knights of St. John, i should be able to invite the Iroquoid confederacy into the war with me since they border them and would be of use, but at the same time NOT invite the Knights of St. John, since they are a nation the size of a very small city and have no capacity for war whatsoever, and are 8,000 miles away, and have no navy.

Did one of your allies ever actively join in a war? In all the campaigns I played, none of my allies, after they joined a war on my side, seemed to actively support my side.

Well then they can add that in as well.

I'd like two things changed myself.

    1) Naval invasions: Each ship has a certain "cargo capacity". This way you can't send an entire stack of troops on a sloop between theatres and such.
Example: Sloop and Brig has "1 cargo capacity" while Galleons have more and so on. And infantry count as 1 cargo with cavalry as 2.

    2) Peace treaties between "blocks of allies": I haven't been able to get a peace treaty in my games (havent played as many though). Example, if I as Britain make peace with France there should be an option that France makes peace with my allies as well.

    ----

And oh, make Mughals and Portugal playable at least.

Agreed, for me this is a game killer. I've already had to abandon one campaign in disgust at the stupidity of the the AI's behaviour.

Can't say I've noticed this one. I am usually successful in tracking down the cause of the blockage, though sometimes it requires considerable head-scratching to find it. What would be useful is an enhancement of the trade screen so that when it reports a problem clicking on the problem indicator takes you to the current cause of that problem, rather than leaving you to play detective and try and find it.

After all the program must know where it is, so it wouldn't hurt if it told the player.

I agree, sort of, although one could argue that a country which cannot protect trade to its main homeland trade port can't protect its trade 'fullstop'. Personally, I've accpeted this feature and just make damned sure that my navy does keep my homelands primary trade port open.

I also make a bee-line for any enemies primary trade port and make sure its blockaded or destroyed.

Have to say this is a bit annoying when it happens.

It would be nice to have a change log box on the main menu screen that just announces the latest patch and gives us a summary, or at least a link to a summary, before we start playing.

I find it a bit silly how you can declare war on say, New Spain, thus bringing Spain herself into a conlfict, but without her allies. And this is on the human side as well. I doubt the AI is using that as a way to circumvent a huge war.

Cool store, bro! I want some ham.
    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?

I would like to see artillery precision increase over time, as it did in reality (as long as both gun and target are immobile, of course).
