I'm looking for a particular star wars game I saw a friend play a few years ago.
The only thing I rememebr about it is that it concluded an arena outside of the main game where you could fight better and better opponents.
Thanks on advance
ummm......is it a shooter or a jedi sort of thing?

only two I can think of is Jedi Outcast and The one space fighting game for the GC

Sounds a bit like the "Mysterious Stranger" part of the original KoTOR.

Don't forget Jedi Academy.

Yeah, I know I haven't given you guys a lot to go on.
As far as I remember it was a 'jedi thing'. In any case you had to fight a sith lord as final boss.
I don't think it was a kotor game as the game was live action instead of all the clicking that kotor has.

Do you remember what platform it was on? Even narrowing it down to PC or console would help.
Force Unleashed had a seperate arena mode. It started out training you against basic enemies and slowly ramped up to more advanced battles. I didn't play that mode to completion, however it's likely that you might have fought a Sith lord at the end of that mode.
but he said a few years ago(i thought of force unleashed too :P ), that came out last year.

I thought I would throw it out on the slender off-chance his time scale was off. I know it
feels like years since I slogged my way through that game.
Besides, it's the only one I can think of with that kind of structure. I've played all of the titles mentioned so far and none of them had a seperate arena built in to the base game. One might have existed for Jedi Outcast/Academy as a mod.
EDIT: Had an idea - was it the ladder mod for Jedi Outcast? It took a single, small map and spawned wave after wave of enemies for the player to kill. The waves grew progressively harder. I think it started out with the easiest type of Sith enemy and went up to harder types, including the game's final boss.

I think there was a multiplayer map in Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy (can't remember which) which pitted two players against one another in an arena type map while the others waited their turn.... don't know about better and better opponents though.

It was on PC.
It seems that Jedi Outcast and Jedi Acadamy are the biggest suspects. I'll go check them out.
Thanks for the help.

Hmmm, actually, I was looking to get into Star Wars as well, so I am wondering which RTS Star Wars game I should choose.
Any suggestions? I did not want to start a new thread for this...

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds is something akin to Age of Empires, there's also Star Wars: Empire at War which reminds me a bit of Star Trek:Birth of the Federation.
galactic battlegrounds though, thats an eyesore if ever there was one. it honestly looks worse than pacman.
i recommend empire at war though, plus they are releasing a mod for it with the clone wars!

Bah, c'mon, it didn't look
that bad. Think
Age of Empires II quality. It doesn't bother me much since you can't zoom in anyway. And I have a soft spot for the game because it was the game that introduced me to SW fandom.
If you don't mind primitive RTS mechanics, give this a try, it should be real cheap now anyways.
Empire at War is not bad as well, though I thought the land combat was poorly executed. The space combat, though..... excellent.
well, i started playing galactic battlegrounds around the same time as Empire Earth 1, so excuse me if i wasnt impressed by the graphics.
still, it does look that bad. i doubt anyone would have it now anyway.
theres gotta be some more SW RTS's out there.............

But.... I have also played
Empire Earth, and.. if memory serves, they looked about the same. If anything I would say
Galactic Battlegrounds looked slightly better because you couldn't zoom in to witness the polygons like in EE.
Besides which, comparing it to Pacman is pretty much like comparing
Left 4 Dead with the original
Doom-- hyperbole.

Agree with you there... for some reason there are lots of SW shooters but not a lot of SW RTS games.
and fore some reasons there are even less FPS SW shooters like Battlefront and Republic Commando
