I've been kicking around the idea of the writing a fiction on the Teutoberg Forest. I already own and have read a few times "The battle that stopped Rome", but have a few questions. I would also like to thank the EB team as this mod reinvigorated my interest in the topic, and I might not have ever got around to starting this if it was not for you guys. That being said, now that I am running into some rather specific questions, I thought why not come to the place that have reignited my fascination with antiquity.

I understand my lazyness of not finding these out for myself may make you guys a little peeved, but I figure some of you guys might just know this stuff off by heart, and for some of these question, may be the only ones who would know the answers.

1) What social background would an Augustan centurion have? Would they be of upper middle class, or work their way up from the lower class, or either? (My main character will be one)

2)Some pleb names, or where to find them? (I'm planing to use Marcus Caelius for the main character, the famous gravestone guy).

3)Would is be LS yet, or the older armor?

4)In the old Germanic used in EB names that a village might have, as well as where to find all the names used in EB within the EB folder.

5)As well, just to confirm, Centurions would have still be mostly Italian in origin?

Thank you guys so much either way, and I can't wait for EBII!!
