OK Tenebrous, I'll try to answer your questions one by one(If I can).
1. A centurion could have had varied social backgrounds. Many centurions were reenlisted veterans, which could be plebians of patricians. I'm guessing though, that being high class would make it easier to gain command positions.
2. Sorry, I don't have a great knowlege of Roman names. For names, reference my answer for question for number 4.
3. Armor like the Lorica Hamata (Mail armor) would most likely have been used. At this time, LS would have been very rare. It existed, but was not in common use yet.
4. I don't know much about old Germanic, but I do know where to find the names. To find them, do this. Open up My Computer. Go to Local Disc(the one titled C) . From there open up Program files and go to The Creative Assembly folder( some people have a folder titled Activision). Open up Rome-Total War/EB/data/text/names. This should bring you to a long list of names.
5. I'm guessing so, but I have no real solid evidence to back this assumption up.
Hope this helps.
Tenebrous, you read non-fiction for fun? For shame.![]()
Jk, I read history for fun too! We are kindred souls in a world of darkness.
Yeah, I do know that sounded really gay.
