Personally, I don't have a moral problem with an old man marrying a young woman in my game, but in practical terms I prefer a male who is under 35. For that matter, if he is between 25-35 he should have some positive traits (sharp, vigorous, a couple of command stars) or he won't meet my standards. 16 year olds are allowable since I know that I'll get an extra decade of work from them regardless of their inherent flaws. One note - the older the marriage age daughter becomes, the older her suitors also become. It is good to know how young the daughter in question is, since a thirty year old female will almost never be offered a marriageable male under 45 or 50 years old. At that point, it's probably better to marry her off to some old guy (55 +) and try to get a couple of kids out of her before he dies. The game will not move on to the next daughter until the first one is married, so if you are overly choosy with one who is aging, her little sisters and nieces will end up as spinsters as well.
