Default Next Patch Save Game Compatible?

    Hey guys...

Just wondering: The next patch is supposed to add a few units and change a few unit stats etc and I was wondering 2 things -

    1) When is this patch due out? Soon, as in a couple of weeks, or is it at least a month or so?

    2) Is this going to be save game compatible (the patch)? I know the other patches have been, but with units being added/changed, I'm wondering if this next patch will not be the same.

I finally am settling in to dig into this game for months, but I wanted to know this first so I know what to expect.

    Thanks

Actually the save-game safety of the last patch was very questionable. I don't really think it was, but CA said so. Anyways, I would start a new campaign if I were you.

The patch will be save game compatible, as no units are removed new units can be added in and be compatible with existing saves.

    Hey Jack

So what about the diplomacy AI, it'll be map-specific won't it? So if anything of that is opened (I thought I read something) it needs changes in the startpos.esf which will then not show up in the old game.

Yes of course a continued game will not see all of the benefits of the new patch as some AI information is in the start pos file, but the old save games will still work.

Okay, thanks, that's useful to know.

So parts of the AI's decision-making processes concerning diplomacy are somehow coded into the map files if I understood correctly?
