This kind of crap is why it should be legal. I don't care if someone is against pot, you should at least have the common sense to realize that it is better that people can enjoy a little cheebah without it being that much WORSE due to pieces of that do stuff like that.
Yupp small bits of glass to look like it'd have more THC crystals. It's quite bad for you're lungs but, it's not like you'll die from a few joints with the glass crystals though. It's still relatively clean compared to what people put in hard drugs.

Amsterdam is expensive as hell without the plane tickets. If you don't have a sizeable chunk of change, I wouldn't bother going.

Hey Frag you could give them a lift into town on your boat! Great shout BTW.

Ohh that wasn't me inviting myself, just pointing out what a nice guy you are...

I would probably take up the offer if my friends weren't going as well...would feel responsible for thier actions (not that they would do anything) but the offer is most appreciated!!

Maybe some point in the future ill take it up :)

Not my place, friend of mine, just let me know in time. Amsterdam isn't that terribly expensive as some say though, it's packed with cheap hostels and restaurants, expect to spend 100 euro a day or so.

In Amsterdam I think the use is just condoned..it´s not really legal.

now over here possession for consumption is indeed de-criminalized...

now...another question...which one of these birds is from Amsterdam?

I've had a similar experience.

Edit: Post doesn't make sense since there is no picture.

Cultivation, even if for personal use, is still totally illegal and cultivation of even one plant is assumed to indicate involvement with trafficking. Possession of seeds is also illegal and despite there being several "head shops" or "grow shops" in Portugal, they are not allowed to sell seeds. It is also true that the number of grow shops has increased over the past few years, which seems to indicate that cultivation for personal use (in Portuguese: auto-cultivo) is becoming a more common practice. There is also a forum, named hortadacouve, formed by people who cultivate for personal use.

It is very common in Portugal to see young people smoking in concerts and other party areas. There has also been, in the last decade, an increase of cafés where it is possible to smoke, although it is never an "open" experience, because there is still a lot of intolerance to public consumption of cannabis as a day to day practice.

The 2006 Global Marijuana March (Portuguese: Marcha Global da Marijuana) was celebrated for the first time in Lisbon and in 2007 both Lisbon and Porto celebrated it.
So it's legal to posses it, but the process of growing it isn't...
Over here sale and possession are openly tolerated and condoned, but growing it isn't either - the current policy seems to assume that coffeeshops can magically generate new stock whenever needed.

What's the reason why marijana and hashish are treated differently in Portugal?

Drives the tourists just as crazy. Sort of a biscuit, crunchy wafles with lukewarm mollases between it. Not my thing I don't like sugary food the proper thing to eat when visiting Holland is a herring or you have never been really here, it's a test of faith.

I'd eat the herring! there's not much food i don't like, i'll even eat brussels sprouts if they are cooked right.

In america we have this thing called a Boardwalk Sandwich,(because they serve them at the shore) it's kindof a Thing here in New Jersey, you take two waffles, hot out of the iron or toaster, drizzle a little chocolate on them, and put Neapolitan Ice Cream on one and Smash the other waffle down on it.

The combination of hot waffle and ice cold ice cream is the epitome of win.

For the best coffeeshops, prices and quality of weed, go to the outskirts of Amsterdam, or to Rotterdam, Utrech, Leiden or the Hague. Central Amsterdam coffeeshops are tourist traps.

Also another thing to make it all cheaper is to take a tent and camp. There are lots of campsites around Holland.

Fragony 11:57 06-30-2009
Campsites are pretty expensive, in a country like the Netherlands people pay good money for a little bit of quiet. Totally agree with not buying weed in the centre, should be tourist common sense. Haarlem is very close to Amsterdam, greatlooking town, good coffeeshops. Don't skip the red lights destrict, it's the prettiest part.

There is only one coffeeshop that i want to visit in Amsterdam and that is the GREY AREA, because it is owned by american Expats. I hear that the Grey Mist Strain that they carry is very good as well.

It's small and somewhat overhyped tbh. You may well get there and think "is this it?"

In central 'Dam Dutch Flowers does some nice weed, but the owner is a notorious .

Top tip for visiting the Netherlands - hire a bike and get out on the cycle paths.

*cough*A few words for the poor pedestrian...Those would be the silent killer trams, that only ding in the final moments giving you milliseconds to dodge off the tracks into the path of a bunch of crazed swooping bikes, which if you're adrenalin/survival instinct has managed to kick in gives you nanoseconds to hurl yourself into the inveitable dog poop that acts as the universes ultimatly horrifying lubricant as it sends your amped, frinctionless, and screaming body head first into the canal.

so the netherlands has banned tobacco in coffeeshops. Does this mean i wouldn't be able to smoke a blunt there?

(a balloon to the first european who knows what a blunt is.)

Reply
Fragony 13:25 07-05-2009
Well yeah, you don't put any tabac in a blunt after all. But no you can't smoke tabaco. Where I live the smoking ban is just ignored, but Amsterdam is a socialist town and that means ABSOLUTE CONTROL. It's just not a very fun city anymore, can't even drink a beer standing (for whatever reason as I said it's a socialist town) because the owner of the establishment will be fined, if a bar gets caught multiple times he must close his door for a week, and because it is a socialist town the stasi is everywhere, photographing everyone from their blinded cars. Very hard for the owners, you try explaining people that it is VERBOTEN to drink while standing.
