In EB, the top level of walls (Epic Stone Walls) is disabled, and so are the biggest siege towers. But the top siege towers of EB are still quite giant.

No, I never use artillery since there's always an army standing nearby the settlement you want to seize, or one that will attack you while you are sieging.

Wrong. Elephants don't kill people, people kill people. Or people with elephants kill people. Or people firing elephants from catapults kill people. Or something like that...
No, they have worse things planned for us.

Fighting isn't about winning, it's about depriving your enemy of all options except to lose.

Cool, thanks. I was hoping the epic walls would be disabled, I didn't trust myself not to use the 'free machine-gun-ballista' exploit from vanilla, that made fighting on walls obsolete. I've come up against large seige towers, they're hefty but at least they aren't game-breaking.

    Nice work EB.

I think artilleries are ridicolously overpriced in EB, i will never buy them. I will take cities by starve or by siege machines.

I don't think they're overpriced, but they certianly have riddiculus upkeep. As such, I decided to lower it and guess what? The AI seems to use them on the battlefield. I know for sure the Pontioi have, when they once creamed my Doryphoroi Pontikoi.

How to take out seige equipment?
I thought that I could take out seige equipment like towers and battering rams with burning arrows, but arrows seem to have no effect (or at least damage shown remains at 0%), but I have noticed that towers actually do collapse and rams actually bust in flames at times. When and why?
I also thought that I could destroy sap points by attacking them (With cavallery, for instance), but there seems to be no effect, either.

Burning arrows, for all those (yes the sap points too). The chance seems to be random though.

There are actually entries for the "burn chance" for all siege equipment in the files, descr_engines or something like that. I'm not really sure if a bigger or smaller number would have the effect of burning more or not. You'd have to play around with it.

Thx, but I don't intend to edit the game files - I just wanted to know whether burning arrows have an effect or not. That it is a random thing is not really satisfying, but changing the "burn chance" would not make things better either way. I would prefer a linear increase of damage made by arrows on siege equipment, just like the ram does it to city gates.

The only way I could see that working is if you gave archers the ability to damage buildings, but then you would have archers firing volleys into stone walls to damage them :/

They do. The damage is for later. The fire arrows/missiles have a chance of setting something on fire. After it has caught fire it will burn up and might use the damage entry on the way. You can however order other things to attack siege equipment and they can damage the items as well. (I've done it often enough in MTW2, sallied forth and destroyed the AI:s rams and towers with normal infantry.)

As I said previously, I attacked sap points with cavalry and they seem to have no effect, so I would wonder if infantry would have a damage effect on seige equipment in EB. In MTW2 things are as you say, and in vanilla TW Rome also, I think
