There is a difference between a photo of a naked woman and a rendered gaesatae but.

The logic behind the "no naked women" rule is that this isn't a porn forum. Even swimsuit photos and similar are restricted to the babe thread, because the locker-room comments within were not appreciated by our female members.

I guess it started with the quick french defeat 1940 against germany and the in anglosaxons country common believe that britain and amerika saved the french and the rest of the world from the nazis just by themselves...

It's just a joke mate ;) I was just playing a battle against the Casse and they just started mass routing which made me think of the French cowardice jokes. But in no way is that picture to be taken serious. I don't see the French as being actual cowards or the Britons being ancestors of the French

That's possible. I also think it no coincidence that the joke resurfaced when France refused to participate in the invasion of Iraq. The French have this thing about militarism, but their performance in the last 130 years was unimpressive to say the least. But the joke is wrong about the cause. On many occasions the French army fought like demons. It was their leadership that let them down.

On the .Org? Frogbeastegg, Kekvit Irae and LadyAnn spring to mind. Frogbeastegg actually did a bit of research for EB in the very early days, but I am not aware of any current female team members.

I will gladly list French competence and heroism in battle as well as incompetent French leaders, yet the rout of 1940 has left quite a stain on French military that even Le Paras of 1948- 1962 found it hard to wash off.

Seriously now, maybe tere was not female forum regulars here, but sometimes, if a regulars here have a little girl, and they accidentally read this forum (as her father won't bother to close this window since this wasn't a porn forum anyway), thay can read and watch all the sexist comments. We need to considerate about this, since most of the "mature" forumers here are most likely a father (from their age...)

The French jokes are really popular it seems nowdays. I see them almost everywhere.
I even think that in my english dictonary the explenation of the word "to rout" is "to go french on someone" :)

I think most of us realize that the French jokes are simply French jokes. Anyone who is a history nerd knows fully well France's reputation in history as a maniacally dangerous enemy.

that part has been letting the rank and file of France down since 1714; and as bad as 1940 was, the leadership in the SYW was just....well, here. Its just one plain disaster after the other. mind you, those articles were written by a person who has a good opinion of France's ability to fight (i.e. your's truly)

in fact, th only times the leadership was good to the men was IIRC druing the period 1588-1714, 1745-1748, and 1792-1812.

Ironically the French soldier will fight like a lion when well-led. And if we look at the collapse in 1940, the BEF ran as fast as the French from the Blitzkrieg, happily for them and the Free World, Hitler decided to let them get away at Dunkerque.
