Oh, I thought that the pila wouldn´t be included in the first release, because they didn´t work probably, but one of the hastati units did discharge them, apperently.
Is it working now? Would be awesome.

I had that on my mind somehow. I think it was in the Romani II preview, but I´m not sure, may be my twisted mind. I´ll search for it.
How many rounds will they have? Two like in EBI?

OK, found it. I think I misunderstood:
"They have a pilum as secondary weapon, so you can make them throw it manually or in autofire.
The "throw javelin before charge" aptitude is buggy, sometimes the soldiers with this attribute don't attack anymore and get slaughtered in close combat, so we don't use it" - By gustave on the twcenter.net

They get 2 in the EDU, although because not all of the soldiers throw their pila in each attack you usually end up a few extra volleys.

Does this mean that phalangites will not have a secondary weapon, then? Because that would leave the flank and rear of the phalanx completely exposed, and I didn't see a secondary weapon in the screens.

Right now they have a secondary weapon (you can see the scabbards in some of the pics) but we might have to remove it if the phalanx isn't working how we want it to.

Yes they are a bit bigger.
