its not so much the fact that they spam nades,as much as it is the fact that:
-they get infinite nades
-your friendly a.i. don't do the same thing back
-on the next-to-hardest difficulty, they are just really smart and accurate, and only throw a few nades. however, the moment you go to highest difficulty, they get so stupid and innacurate, they couldn't hit the ground with a carpet bomb, then as a band-aid they get infinite, uber-accurate grenades

i've noticed it in just about every FPS. oddly, not in Gears of war(which is a third-person anyway).
i didn't get a chance to say this yet, but now i do:
i know that, no matter how high-tech a FPS is, each weapon gets certain damage points, each person gets a certain amount of health before death. from DOOM all the way through to Halo 3 and CoD5, every FPS has it.
anyway, then the a.i. will use the best weapon it can possibly use (apparently melees are fixed to not become a banzai charge). on hardest difficulty, since they get infinite nades, i'm guessing that means that they want to use greandes; grenades are always between a 1-2 hit kill.
so, if they were programmed to have only, say, 2 nades a person on hardest, id be happy.
