Default Good god, is Videodrome real?!

I'm not even going to bother linking to it because it's way too messed up, but I have run across a series of games called "The Torture Game." I'm actually afraid that I have been exposed to the Videodrome signal after briefly playing this game, because there's no way any sane, rational person could come up with this. It's not even that fun; it's just really freaky, and really grotesque. It's not even the fact that you are dismembering a body that's so messed up, it's the fact that you zre killing the dude, and very slowly.

Anyone else heard of this? Opinions? Anyone want to lambast me for being an uptight old-timer?

I've one of the games and it's pretty pointless.

You? Uptight old-timer? I think not.

Heck, that teddy bear destruction game was disturbing enough. That game you describe sounds horrible.

I'd read somewhere that games like these are a good source for people to release their pent up frustration and anger, so that it does not happen sometime in real life. Kind of like running amok with shotguns in one of the GTAs....that gets boring pretty quickly though.

Heard of them and played them, and to be honest I don't see anything inherently wrong with the games. While they are obviously of a sadistic nature, there's just so little to do in them that i never really played them longer than five minutes. To me they are nothing more than a curiosity and should be treated as such.

IMHO games are an art-form whose quality can range from a great masterpiece to simple scribblings on a piece of compost. You cannot expect anything more than what the source would imply. Movies are guilty of the same thing (Hostel, anyone?), it just comes with the freedom that the medium provides.

I wouldn't worry about getting infected by alien waves sent from your computer screen that make you want to, or not want to, partake in the actions you just saw. Now if you'll excuse me, i'm late for my bloodbath.

Stay away from small animals and hot-women for a while, I mean with your facial hear mindless torture could become cool, and we don't want that

Dude, that is pretty sick. and that is what has become wrong with western culture, we find it okay to "release" our frustration by killing virtual people, just because they aren't real its magically okay. Look, i enjoyed gta immensely, but even i had trouble with burying a man in a porter potty for wolf whistling my sister who looks like a tramp to begin with.

Now, torture games, hello new craigslist killer.
