    1. I have noticed that occasionally after a troop producing turn, a non special province with a standard dojo will produce an honor 1 unit with a rank 2 general (non-heir}. I'm not complaining, mind you, but it this a feature or a minor bug?

    2. Due to murphy's law, I always seem to have an abundance of 31 man units, but sometimes I am in a quandary as to whether to combine. Example:

A 15 man YS honor 4 unit (with armor) and a 25 man honor 1 unit (no armor) will combine to a 40 man unit honor 2 (no armor) If my army is not full and I don't need the unit slot should I combine? I realize that the honor level is important, but is a fifteen man YS unit of much use anyway, and is it worth managing seperately?

As you advance in a SP game, the armies get bigger and bigger, so somewhere around the line you better combine your 15 men troops together or else your 16X15 men units (240) will be facing a 960 men AI army on the battlefield.

The taishos with a higher rank are not a bug but are a part of the game, you shoud incorporate them as fast as possible to an army with a low ranking general for the boost (+1 honor all troops under his command).

    Hope that helps

I may be mistaken, but as far as I'm aware the AI follows each soldier's honour and armour individually. When you combine smaller units what you see is the average, although in fact each soldier retains his attributes from before.

Still doesn't explain why you never get two 30-man units though.
The general claimed the troops owed their victory to him, but in truth they knew it was their gift to the general.

Not really sure but I think that the AI "averages" out the new army unit and defaults to the majority eg, adding 10 archers with no armour to a 30 archers with bronze armour level it DISPLAYS the new unit as 40 archers with bronze armour. Whether they all have armour now I can't tell. I am very careful how I join up units and thought I was gaining some advantage by doing selective unit adding.

Does someone know exactly what happens ?

i haven't played a campaign game in a long time, but if i remember right if you drop the unarmoured unit onto the armoured unit the resulting unit will have armour.

Save the game before you do this,
    try dropping both ways
    armour onto unarmoured,
and then reload and try drop unarmoured onto armoured and see what happens,

but the honour of the unit will be averaged out no matter which way you do this.

post here with result, just so we all know,
    see you

Try using some of the smaller less "upgraded" armies to defend the provinces that are deeper within your territory.

If you drop your un-armored unit onto the armored unit it becomes armored no matter how many troops you have. The honor is calculated on a person by person basis and is an average of the entire unit. So I would not fear combining units as long as you put the unarmored ones into the armored ones.
