Quick question on allocating starting characters. Do people want me to assign the starting fms, or should I do it randomly from a list from the signup thread?

By the way, I will be on a longer vacation through August, so I don't think it makes much sense to jump fully in before just to have to put everything on ice through August, so I won't really join until Setpember. I'll just assume you'll have started by then!![]()

I'd likely try to leave them off of the randomized list, although that wouldn't work if some hadn't posted here they'd be joining late.
I think the main advantage of assigning is that I can pick some of the players that have been the most active and would take to the leadership roles of King, Prince, Duke, etc. well. The main disadvantage is any perceived unfairness...

You can take these more active ones and randomly assign roles to them(although, I think that's what you meant).
I'll figure out a system for the starting fms (which are fairly few anyway, compared to the many rgbs). Given the importance of those first mainstay characters making it completely random might cause problems...
Is there anyone here who will want to wait on an fm (several kids are due to come of age in the first decade or so)?

I don't mind waiting a FM if I can post stories of him growing up.
